Texas-based Teklife talent OG Rubix makes his debut on the imprint with B.O.L.O., a brand new dreamy single. It’s a boom bap soundscape with rumbling triplets and classic chops, where he highlights the hip-hop influence in this world of sound. You could almost hear this on Quiet Storm radio, with its smooth loops and literal thunder sounds soothing your soul. Organic, almost acoustic sounding, his layered samples expose the roots of this music. It’s a refreshing take on the digital-dominated world of footwork, still true to form but with an emphasis on timelessness rather than modern trends.
